Rahul Ahuja

Do you still seem to have left out any detail on your resume? Add that extra section on your resume, and make your resume stand out in the application process. Certainly, your Resume Certifications will want the recruiter to fix their eyes on your resume longer. The certifications prove that you are a relevant and valuable hire!

You'd have a long academic career with various degrees or technical courses that have resulted in various professional certificates. Know that, there are many ways to include certifications on a resume to attract the hiring manager's attention.

Professional certification is proof that you have the knowledge and skills to do something. To get that proof, a person has to often pass a test. Consequently, the Certifications demonstrate the passion for the industry and give evidence of good expertise and skills. To highlight your accomplishments more, add the important certificates.

Why is it so important to understand how to include certifications on your resume?

Assess the different Certificates

One must be able to decide whether each certificate is relevant or significant enough to be included. Thus, go on and decide your best resume certificates. Avoid including any unnecessary details.

Importance of Placement of Certifications

Where to include the certifications on a resume can also depend on the importance of each certification. Ideally, your certifications must be added after the projects and educational qualifications.

Types Of Certificates

Different types of certifications should be included on a resume. Certifications to list on a resume include technical, vocational or academic. Furthermore, it can also include professional licenses, courses and certificates authorized by prestigious institutions, universities and societies.

The Must Have's

If you're looking for a job in the specific to a particular industry, make sure you include your certificates achieved in the same. This would add immense value and capture the attention of the hiring managers.

Certification Dates

If your certification has an expiration date, you need to add that. Don't list certifications on a resume that have expired. Is your certification under progress? Then, add the anticipated finishing date.

What format must you follow to note down your certifications?

Write each certification in reverse chronological order. Begin with the most recently achieved or any that are in progress

For the hiring managers to understand, any acronyms used should be written out in full forms.

For Eg: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Project Management Institute, 2013

State your certifications in the following structure- Name of Certification/License/Membership Name of Certifying body Dates obtained and expiration Location
